The Friends of Faversham Creek seeks to preserve and enhance Faversham Creek as a working waterway for traditional craft in an unspoiled environment, for the benefit of the local community, mariners, visitors and wildlife

The Friends was founded in 1987 and has campaigned since then to protect and enhance Faversham Creek. We are a membership-based organisation and welcome newcomers.

Faversham Creek is a tidal inlet from the Swale on the North Kent coast, and splits into two branches at Hollowshore: Oare Creek to the west and Faversham Creek to the east.

Sailing barges and their predecessors have worked these waters for centuries, and there are still many to be seen here, as well as boatyards, shipwrights, chandlers, quays and wharves, and ancient warehouses.
